All you have to do is send a note with a link of the characters you would like to use. And then you could select a date and a person you would like to fight against. Then, you both would agree on a due date and the judges will score each fight and depending on who you fought and your rank, you either go up or down.
when choosing an opponent, do you have to draw the fight? and is it a collab?

You do not have to draw the fight, merely script it. It can be written, animated, drawn, or you can draw or take a picture with a camera and write the tournament using the photo as a base.
The fights are not collaborated. Instead, each person makes an entry of their version of what happened. The two are then graded separately and given a score. The winner advances a rank and the loser is demoted. That is the league.
When we have tournaments, the same entry and grading rules will applying. However, when you lose you cannot advance further in the tournament. Side entries and little other stories about the tournament can be entered though. We are still working on that aspect, though.
